Python (derived from the verb pythein, "to rot") is claimed by some to be the original name of the site  in  recognition  of  the  Python  that  Apollo  defeated.  The  Homeric  Hymn  to  Delphic  Apollo recalled that the ancient name of this site had been Krisa.

In the inner hestia ("hearth") of the Temple of Apollo, an eternal flame burned. Meteora is considered one of the most beautiful area of mainland Greece, and its monasteries are one of the country's most unique attractions.  Then  lunch  at a local  restaurant, with  the  traditional cuisine  of Thessaly.  Free time in Kalampaka.
